메꽃과(--科, 학명: Convolvulaceae 콘볼불라케아이[*])는 가지목의 과이다.[1]

열대에서 아열대에 걸쳐 분포하고 있으며 세계적으로 55속의 1,600여 종이 알려져 있는데, 한국에는 갯메꽃·나팔꽃·고구마·새삼·아욱메풀 등 3속 6종이 분포하고 있다.

초본 또는 교목으로서 종종 덩굴을 이루며, 대부분 흰색의 유액을 가지고 있다. 잎은 홑잎으로 어긋나며 턱잎이 없다. 꽃은 양성화이며 5수화로서, 방사대칭을 이루고 있다. 꽃부리는 대부분 완전히 붙어서 깔때기 모양을 하고 있으며, 수술은 꽃부리통의 밑부분에 붙어 있다. 씨방은 상위로, 1개 또는 4개의 방으로 나뉘어 있다. 열매는 대부분 삭과가 되어 익으면 벌어지지만, 종에 따라서는 살이 많아서 벌어지지 않는 것도 있다.
