뉴 크리스티 민스트렐스
뉴 크리스티 민스트렐스(The New Christy Minstrels)는 포크 분야에서 독특한 지위를 차지하는 대편성의 혼성 팝 포크 그룹이다. 1961년에 남성 8명, 여성 2명, 합계 10명이 레코드를 녹음, 그 호평에 부응하여 다음해에 레귤러 그룹으로서 정식으로 발족하였다. 최초의 리더는 랜디 스파크스였으나, 1964년에 아트 포텔과 교체하였다. 멤버가 자주 바뀌는 것으로도 유명하며, 인원수도 남자 7명, 여자 2명의 9명으로 줄었으나 실력은 저하되지 않았다. 1965년경부터 산 레모 음악제에 출연하는 등 팝화(化)의 방향으로 강력하게 추진시켰다/ 다수 인원의 멤버를 살린 다채로운 편곡과 연출의 교묘함으로 즐기게 해준다는 점에서는 최고의 그룹이다.
