류큐 신토

류큐 신토(琉球神道), 니라이카나이신앙(ニライカナイ信仰) 또는 우타키 신앙(御嶽信仰)은 류큐 열도 고유의 신앙 체계이다. 구체적인 전설과 전통은 지역과 섬마다 조금씩 다를 수 있지만, 류큐 종교는 일반적으로 조상숭배와 산 자와 죽은 자, 자연계의 신과 영혼 사이의 관계를 존중하는 것이 특징이다. 일반적인 로키 정령과 신과 인간으로 분류되는 다른 많은 존재에 관한 믿음과 같은 일부 믿음은 마부이 또는 생명의 본질에 대한 관심과 마찬가지로 고대 애니미즘 뿌리를 나타낸다.

시간이 지남에 따라 류큐인의 종교 관습은 기독교와 불교와 함께 일본 신토와 중국 종교(백련교, 명교, 도교, 유교, 민속신앙)의 영향을 받았다. 가장 오래된 특징 중 하나는 아마미큐에서 파생된 여성의 영적 우월성인 오나리가미라는 믿음으로, 노로 (여사제) 시스템의 발전과 유타 (여성 무당)의 상당한 추종을 가능하게 했다.
