Can you write an article on the en:University of Debrecen and its' campus in Korea?
Hi! Help with an article on the English Wikipedia?
Hi! I was directed here to ask for assistance on an article in the English Wikipedia. The article in question is en:Busan Gaeseong Middle School murder, which you have on your Wikipedia as 부산 개성중학교 폭행 치사 사건. My biggest issue is that I cannot speak or read any Korean, so I am limited to whatever I can find through Google translate. Can anyone help find sources and fill in the English article with details that I might have missed or might have put in incorrectly? It seems to be pretty notable, so I'd like to try to keep it if I can. Tokyogirl79 (토론) 2013년 5월 24일 (금) 13:28 (KST)
History of Korean TV dramas / Histoire des télénouvelles coréennes
Hello. I wrote a "History" section for en:Korean drama. Later I edited another article only for the edit to be canceled because my sources were considered unreliable. (Much more about this here.) I now know that most of my sources for the "History" section would also be considered unreliable. Since I don't know Korean, I can't fix this. It has been suggested that there might be someone here who could find reliable sources.
Please note that although 대한민국의 텔레비전 드라마 is nearly all history, it is not a substitute as is, because it cites no sources at all; I don't know whether that's a priority in Korean Wikipedia, but if it is, it should probably be fixed too.
Anyway, frankly, anyone intelligent who reads Korean could undoubtedly write such a section better than I. If anyone who knows both languages wants to merge the two sections, I assume the Korean one will dominate.
Thanks for your attention and for any help.
Bonjour.

the Parshvanath Jain temple in Khajuraho
Hi! Some years ago I received a picture about a most-perfect magic square from the Parshvanath Jain temple in Khajuraho. According to magic square#India Magic Squares and Cubes By William Symes Andrews, 1908, Open court publish company the square is more then thousand years old / from the 10th-century. There is an additional text above the square. I hope to receive a translation and/or additional details about this text from contributors on languages from India.

Wikiproject Erasmus Prize Winners
Dear fellow wikipedians,
My apologies for using English here, please help translate if you are able.
Wikipedia has been awarded the Erasmus Prize 2015. This international prize is awarded annually to a person or institution that has made an exceptional contribution to culture, society or social science. The King of the Netherlands will present the award on 25 November. This will create media attention which will hopefully result in plenty of new volunteers. Prior to the award ceremony we would like to write and improve articles on former Erasmus Prize winners. All 80 former laureates should be notable enough to merit an article.
Please join the project and help us provide our fellow laureates with articles.

Article translation request
I have been supporting english wikipedia article Ceremonial pole since East asian & other asian cultures too have traditions like en:Jangseung (장승). I suppose translation from en:Ceremonial pole this article to a Korian language article shall help to take note of ancient cultures in better way. At my user sand box 사용자:Mahitgar/연습장 I have added first para with google translation but I am not aware how acurate it is. And I request korian language wikipedia friends in helping out in this translation effort.

Metro ridership database
Hello everyone. Can someone hep me to find the actual ridership database per metro station for Seoul metropolitan subway? I checked this link which is given as a source in Korean articles, but it gives a blank page. I searched for 통계 on the website and it only givs this blank page as a result. I browsed through the menu with my limited Korean knowledge (and the help of a dictionary) but don't seem to find anything. Same with Korean transport database, it only gives a result for Korail (열림월별일반철도역간이용인원), which excludes Seoul Metro and other non-Korail stations. Under 지하철역간이용인원 there are only other cities listed, no Seoul. Itás frustrating. The links on both kowiki and enwiki are broken. I really hate that Korean website structures change every half a year... and I have to keep updating the links manually all the time :( Can anyone tell me where the current statistics is? Thank you in advance. Teemeah (토론) 2016년 7월 27일 (수) 17:42 (KST)

Please check my Korean translation in these files
I've made Korean description to the following files based on the English description in them, but I'm not sure whether they are correct because I'm a beginner in the Korean language. Can anyone check it?
영어: Lieutenant General Jang Duk-chang, Korean Air Force Chief of Staff, led a visiting friendship delegation made up by seven ROKAF officers, and take the ROKAF special flight, arriving at Taipei Songshan Airport at 5:00 pm yesterday.
→ 한국어: 대한민국 공군참모총장 장덕창중장은 공군장교 7명의 친선방문단을 거느리고 어제 오후5시 한국공군전용기편으로 타이페이 송산공항에 도착하였다. (is it correct?)
By the way, I've also made some svg files in Korean (also based on English files on Wikimedia Commons), and it would be fine if their grammar is checked here. If something's not correct, please let me know.

Help about Korean discoverer of asteroid
On it.wiki we are struggling to find the full names of a Korean who discovered an asteroid.
|K.-J. Choo||it:94400 Hongdaeyong||it:Young-Beom Jeon
We have some fragments of news about K.-J. Choo. The most likely matching is with Kyoung-Ja Choo mentioned at page 574 of this document.
We kindly ask your support for searching other korean sources to better identify who K.-J. Choo is. Additionally, assuming that Kyoung-Ja Choo is a correct matching, we would like to know whether is a female or male name and how it is written in Korean.
Last but not least, my original intention was to post this request in the Astronomy section of the ko.wiki to get help from contributors possibly familiar with the topic, but I was not able to find how. If any of you would be so kind to notify the Astronomy section of ko.wiki about the present request, it is highly appreciated.

Hi! Wiki Science Competition has started, sitenotices have appeared for sure in Spain, Austria, Russian Federation, USA and Ukraine, and Italy will be join very soon with a massive national campaign.
As a member of the academic committee I did my best to reduce the gap between countries both in the composition of the juries and now in the outreach. I did inform many platforms (enwiki, eswiki, frwiki) during the preparation of the event, now I am informing all national institutions, associations and federations of science and technology I can contact, especially those located in countries without national juries (so, also in South Korea), I am posting notes on LinkedIn groups everyday, and I am contacting national chapters and user groups.. and so on. That's why I am here.
We prepared banners for many countries but on meta they say it is not wise to use them all, so if you want to use the style and do one here on your wiki for few days, just let us know. In your case the banner is not country-specific so it is generic.
Otherwise, if you have social media and you want to inform your friends and colleagues, the twitter hashtags are #WSC2017, #WikiScience2017, #WikiScience

The Embassy seems to be doing the job of official formal procedures between the states which are practical and routine themselves. In Wiki Encyclopedia there are descriptions about the national leaders including such a humane nationalist Inchon Kim Seong Su. Sometimes, a neutral writing could make some emphasis on the aspects of the features and the personalities out of description..

Hello, I am an editor to the English Wikipedia. I have found many problems with the article en:Yang Kyoungjong and suspect parts or all of the story may be a hoax. The Korean Wikipedia page says he's a fictional character. There many problems with sourcing and information on the English page, and I've tagged it as a possible hoax.
There is a Korean documentary that could shed more light on this, but it is in Korean. Koreans who have seen it could be of assistance by summarizing the information in the documentary in English.

Suggestion for a new article assessment system for the Korean Wikipedia
This is a suggestion to change the current article assessment system of the Korean Wikipedia to a new one. Please read this suggestion carefully from start to finish.
Here is the proposed new article quality assessment scale for the Korean Wikipedia:
Here is the proposed new article importance assessment scale for the Korean Wikipedia:
|Class name (in Korean; hover mouse over text to see the English equivalent)||Criteria (in English)||Method of attribution (in English)|
|In this context, a 'top-importance article' is about a topic that is extremely important and even crucial to its relevant fields of knowledge. For example, the Korean Wikipedia's article on South Korea is of top-importance.||One or more contributors (not mandatory, yet preferable, to follow the opinions of one or more community members)|
|In this context, a 'high-importance article' is about a topic that is extremely notable, but has not yet achieved international notability. It may also be notable within a specific continent only.||One or more contributors|
|In this context, a 'mid-importance article' is about a topic that is only notable within its particular fields of knowledge, and has achieved notability in specific places or areas.||One or more contributors|
|In this context, a 'low-importance article' is about a topic that is of specialist interest, and covers a specific part of a higher-importance article.||One or more contributors|
|In this context, a 'bottom-importance article' is about a topic of the lowest significance and relevance to its particular fields of knowledge.||One or more contributors (this grade may be advisable only to WikiProjects relating to topics with large fanbases on the Korean Wikipedia)|

Names of the kings of the Goryeo dynasty
Why are the titles of kings in the Korean Wikipedia usually "Dynasty name (왕조) + temple name (묘호)", for example 고려 고종 but for kings where is no templename, it is "dynasty name + temple name + king (왕)"? For example: 고려 충렬왕? Why is not 고려 고종왕 or 고려 충렬? Is it because there is no temple name for 충렬 that 왕 is added? We are currently discussing how the title should be in the German wikipedia. --Christian140 (토론) 2019년 11월 16일 (토) 20:04 (KST)
- @Christian140: "King Chungnyeol was the first Goryeo ruler to be remembered by the title wang (王), meaning "king". Previous rulers had received temple names with the suffix jo (祖) or jong (宗), meaning "revered ancestor" and a title typically reserved for emperors. After Goryeo became a vassal of the Mongol Yuan dynasty, Yuan emperor Kublai Khan perceived this practice as lowering his own power and ordered that the Goryeo rulers could not receive such names henceforth." - from en:Chungnyeol of Goryeo--Namoroka (토론) 2019년 11월 18일 (월) 02:51 (KST)
- Thanks. What we are discussing about is if the German title should be "Chungnyeol Wang" or "König Chungnyeol" (meaning "King Chungnyeol"). In Literature, usually the letter is chosen. And I also think it is correct to translate 王 with "King". However, another user claims "wang" is part of the name and must not be translated. Korean government websites, though, all translate wang with King in the English version , , , , What do you think? --Christian140 (토론) 2019년 11월 18일 (월) 17:05 (KST)
Idea for an article in Korean: The Good Son (Jeong novel)
I wrote the article on the Korean novel en:The Good Son (Jeong novel) in English. Maybe a Korean version would be good!
The article 라리따 빤요팟 seems to be an unattributed translation of en:Lalita Panyopas.
