시리아 내전에서의 동맹

시리아 민주군(아랍어: قوات سوريا الديمقراطية 쿠와앗 수리야 알디무크라티야; QSD[*], 쿠르드어: Hêzên Sûriya Demokratîk, 영어: Syrian Democratic Forces; SDF)은 시리아 내전에서 이슬람 국가(IS) 및 알누스라 전선(JaN)에 대항하는 아랍인, 아시리아인, 아르메니아인, 쿠르드인, 시리아 투르크멘, 체르케스인, 체첸인 민병대들의 연합조직이다. SDF의 목적은 “시간이 지남에 따라 참된 정의가 실현되는 민주적이고 상호의무적인 시리아를 만드는 것”이라고 한다.[60] SDF의 활동은 시리아 북부에서 민주연합주의 이념에 따라 진행되고 있는 세속주의적 로자바 혁명의 일부이다.

SDF의 주적은 IS로서,[61] SDF는 샤다다흐,[62] 알하울, 티시린 댐 등의 전략요충지에서 IS를 성공적으로 몰아냈다.[63] 2015년 12월 10일 이틀간의 회의 끝에 SDF는 시리아 민주평의회라는 이름의 정당을 창당했다.[64][65]
