선양의 기후는 [[계절풍]]의 영향을 받는 [[습윤 대륙성 기후]]이다. 여름은 계절풍 때문에 덥고 습하며, 겨울은 시베리아 고기압 때문에 춥고 건조하다. 선양은 사계절이 뚜렷하다. 연평균 기온은 8.3 °C이고 추울 때는 -28.5 °C까지 떨어지기도 하고 더울 때는 36.1 °C까지 올라가기도 한다. 비는 7월과 8월에 집중된다. 연평균 강수량은 705.5mm이다.
