[[1960년]]대 후반에 도시는 콜럼비아를 아름답게 만들고, 더 많은 주민들을 다운타운에 끌어들이는 프로그램을 세웠다. [[1970년]]대와 [[1980년]]대에는 몇개의 [[사무실]] 건물들이 건설되었다. [[1990년]]대에 와서 도시는 컬럼비아의 호안 지역을 아름답게 만드는 데 일을 시작하였다. 새로운 공원들과 다른 공동 개선들은 호안 지역에 비즈니스들과 상점들을 끌어들였다.
