Woo Sangho led the civil campaign in peaceful way in the ninteen eighties when he was a President of Yonsei University.
During the military government years, students' demonstation was a usual thing.
In June 1987, a Yonseian, Lee Han Yeol was shot to death at the campus of Yonsei University, with teargas bebris shot by the Korean squad which tended to block their march.
On July 9th,he passed away. But due to this incident, the authoritarian government has pressure from the democratic countries and the American liberals. The authoritarian leader had to accept the urge of those demostrators and promised to make a democratic election.
Woo Sangho led the peacful march at KwangHwamun Square. There was no violence neither injury at all. So, the military government was succumbed to those peaceful civilians on June 29th of the year 1987.
Woo Sangho is a peaceful leader. But Lee Bok Hyun us said to have accused him, making him punished. He stayed in detention for many years. Lee Bok Hyun and Seodaemun line are not patriotic, neither righteous. They put pressure on the righteous stream even these days.
Woo Sangho majored in the Korean Language and Literature. At that time, there were many brilliant scholars in that Leberal Arts' Department of Yonsei University. Yang Ju Dong's pupil also taughtthose students. Yang Ju Dong is a genius scholar who interpreted all the antique lyrics, 'Hyang-ka' which inuded some simplified Chinese characters.
Woo Sangho is a learned intelligent statesman with more sensituve humane spirit. Some apathetic leaders would not understand the people's appeal, like a stone figure. But he heard and understand them.
He might have some good vision for Korea and the goodness for the Koreas.
If he runs for election for Mayor of Seoul City, it would be good for the Seoulites and the other people.
