앨리슨 마가렛 스미슨(Alison Margaret Smithson, 1928년 6월 22일 ~ 1993년 8월 14일)과 피터 데넘 스미슨(Peter Denham Smithson, 1923년 9월 18일 ~ 2003년 3월 3일)은 영국의 건축가 부부이다. 두 사람은 협력 관계 아래 활동했으며 브루탈리즘과 관련된 건축 및 도시 이론으로 유명하다. 영미권에서는 대개 앨리슨 앤 피터 스미슨(Alison and Peter Smithson) 또는 스미슨 부부로 불리곤 한다.

생애

피터 스미슨은 잉글랜드 북동부 더럼 카운티의 스톡튼 온 티스에서, 앨리슨 마가렛 길은 요크셔의 셰필드에서 태어났다.

인도와 버마 지역에서 봉사활동을 마치고 영국으로 돌아온 피터 스미슨은 더럼 대학교의 킹스 칼리지(지금의 뉴캐슬 APL)에서 앨리슨 마가렛과 만나 1949년 결혼했다. 부부는 학교를 졸업하고 런던 카운티 카운슬에서 임시직으로 건축 업무를 도맡다가 1950년에 정식으로 사무소를 열게 된다.

세 명의 자녀 중 한 명은 건축가로 활동하고 있다. 알리슨 스미슨은 소설을 쓰기도 했으며 그녀의 작품은 1966년에 정식으로 출판되었다.
