외풀과(--科, 학명: Linderniaceae 린데르니아케아이^[*])는 꿀풀목의 과이다.^[1] 전 세계에 약 13개 속 195종이 자생하고 있으며, 주로 신열대구에 분포한다.

하지만 일부 분류 체계는 넓은 의미(sensu lato)의 현삼과에 포함시키거나 좀더 최근에는 넓은 의미의 질경이과로 분류하기도 한다. 그런데 몇몇 저자들은 이 분류군들을 이들 과에서 분리하여,^[2]^[3] 별도의 외풀과로 분류해야 한다고 주장하고 있으며,^[4] LAPG II 분류 체계^[5] 와 APG III 분류 체계는 이를 인정하고 있다.

미크란테뭄속과 스테모디오프시스속이 외풀과에서 속하는 위치는 비교적 정확한 편이다.^[6]
