[[유대교]] 정통파(正統派)의 한 갈래로서, 전체 유대인의 20%를 차지한다. 남유럽, 중동, 남미 등에 많다. [[1949년]] [[이스라엘 독립전쟁]] 이후, 850,000명의 '''세파라딤''' 유대인이 [[아랍]]으로부터 이주하였으며, 그 중 약 600,000명은 이스라엘로，나머지 인구는 유럽과 미국으로 이주하였다. [[프랑스]]의 유대인은 대부분이 '''세파라딤'''이다.
