A Japanese Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF) Soldier from the 20th Infantry Regiment (dressed in white cold-weather gear), engages targets down range with his Howa 5.56 mm Type 89 assault rifle, during a live fire exercise conducted at the snow covered Ojojibara Maneuver Area of Sendai, Japan, while participating in Exercise FOREST LIGHT 2004. Forest Light is a bi-lateral training exercise conducted between the US Marine Corps (USMC) and the JGSDF.
