《Defenders of the Faith》는 영국의 헤비 메탈 밴드 주다스 프리스트의 아홉 번째 스튜디오 음반이다. 싱글곡으로 발매된 트랙은 〈Freewheel Burning〉, 〈Some Heads Are Gonna Roll〉 그리고 〈Love Bites〉이다. 이 음반은 미국 음반 산업 협회에 의해 플래티넘 인증을 받았다.[9]

커버 아트 편집
더그 존슨(《Screaming for Vengeance》에서 헬리온을 디자인하기도 한)의 커버 아트는 이 밴드에 의해 개념화된 개틀링 건과 탱크 트랙을 가진 숫양 뿔이 달린 호랑이 같은 육지 공격 생물인 메탈리안을 묘사하고 있다. 뒷면 커버에 메시지가 들어 있음.

논란 편집
〈Eat Me Alive〉는 PMRC의 "추잡한 15개 곡"에서 3위에 올랐는데, 이 단체는 이 곡이 가장 불쾌하다고 판단한 15곡의 노래 목록이다.[10] PMRC의 공동창립자인 티퍼 고어는 이 노래가 총구의 구강 성관계에 관한 것이라고 말했다.[11] 이러한 주장에 대해 주다스 프리스트는 후속 음반인 《Turbo》에 수록된 곡 〈Parental Guidance〉을 녹음했다.
