러시의 음반

《Hemispheres》는 앤섬 레코드가 1978년 10월에 발매한 캐나다의 록 밴드 러시의 여섯 번째 스튜디오 음반이다. 이 밴드의 이전 스튜디오 음반인 《A Farewell to Kings》를 지원하기 위해 순회공연을 한 후, 러쉬는 다음 음반 작업을 시작했고, 이전 스튜디오 음반과 마찬가지로, 《Hemispheres》는 웨일즈의 록필드 스튜디오와 런던의 트라이던트 스튜디오에서 오랜 엔지니어와 기획자인 테리 브라운과 함께 녹음되었다. 러시는 곁눈질의 〈Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres〉와 9분간의 기악곡 〈La Villa Strangiato〉로 프로그레시브 록 사운드를 계속했다.

《Hemispheres》는 음악 비평가들로부터 비평가들의 호평을 받았다. 캐나다와 영국에서는 14위, 미국에서는 41위에 이르렀다. 이 음반의 짧은 두 곡인 〈The Trees〉와 〈Circumstance〉는 각각 1978년과 1979년에 싱글로 발매되었다. 1993년 이 음반은 미국 음반 산업 협회로부터 100만장 판매로 플래티넘 인증을 받았다. 러시는 1978년 10월부터 1979년 6월까지 콘서트 투어로 《Hemispheres》를 지원했다. 이 음반은 1979년 6월부터 핑크팝 페스티벌에서 밴드가 이전에 발매하지 않은 라이브를 포함하여 현재 진행 중인 40주년 기념 음반의 일부로 2018년 11월 16일에 다양한 확장 형식으로 재발매되었다.

러시는 1978년 10월부터 1979년 6월까지 미국, 캐나다, 유럽의 콘서트 투어로 《Hemispheres》를 지원했다.[6] 캐나다 다리에는 1978년 12월 토론토에 있는 메이플 리프 가든에서 열린 세 개의 매진 쇼가 포함되어 있어 캐나다인들의 새로운 출석 기록을 세웠다.[7]
