Mr. Hwang brings to more than twenty years experience in architecture and design of retail and hospitality entertainment venues. Mr.Hwang has been responsible for the marketing, management, and design of a variety of mixed-use retail design projects. He uses his expertise to design numerous mixed-use complexes and department stores throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. Mr.Hwang’s creation of unique environments for the consumer is a result of his international and versatile perspective, which is brought to every project.
Joon was Vice President/Managing Director at RYA New York and Seoul and also Regional Vice President/ Executive Design Director at Walker Group/WPP in New York. He's been Project Director/Senior Project Designer for FRCH in New York as well as a Project Designer at Schafer Associates in Chicago, Throughout his career, Joon has worked both with international and domestic clients that include Westfield, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s,The Bon Ton, Lladro, Esprit, Wanamaker’s, HYUNDAI, Rodamco Asia, Shinsegae, The Galleria, Korea Life, Grand Hyatt Mirama Group, Westin Chosen Hotel, Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel, Washington Mutual Bank, and Wachovia Bank.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Design and Architecture from Northern Illinois University and enrolled Master of Architecture at Illinois Institutes of Technology and continued education at New York University.
