작은발톱수달(Amblonyx cinerea)은 전세계에서 가장 작은 수달로 몸무게가 5kg 이하이다.^[4]^[5] 작은발톱수달속(Amblonyx)의 유일종이다. 방글라데시와 버마, 인도, 중국 남부, 라오스, 말레이시아, 인도네시아, 싱가포르, 필리핀, 타이 그리고 베트남의 홍수림 늪과 민물 습지대에서 서식한다.^[1]
